ALL SAINTS CHOIR

PURPOSE OF THE GROUP:

The Choir’s role is to lead the musical component of worship at All Saints on Sundays from September to May. The choir leads the congregation in hymn-singing and usually presents an anthem which compliments the theme of worship for that day.

WHEN THE GROUP MEETS:

The choir sings normally at the 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday mornings from September to May inclusive. Choir practices are held on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. The choir also meets hour before each service to rehearse the morning’s anthem and psalm.

HOW TO CONTACT:

Prospective choir members or musicians who would be interested in participating in All Saints’ music ministry can contact the Choir Director through the All Saints church office. Email: allsaints@sasktel.net

OTHER INFORMATION:

Choir members’ musical skills vary, and all singers who can carry a tune, (whether they read music or not), are most welcome. Most music is sung in 4-part harmony and selections range from traditional to contemporary. Music selections are accompanied by organ, keyboard and occasionally, CD instrumental back-up.

We try to feature an anthem at least once per year in which the children of the church school join us.

Other musicians also add to the musical ministry at times with trumpet, flute, french horn or other instruments.

Choir members have become a supportive group to one another and enjoy their company together. Choir members and their spouses normally get together for parties twice during the year.
